I have received eMails from S‑50, S‑550, S‑330, W‑30, MC‑300 and MC‑500 owners who have had great success installing this USB/FDE model on their samplers and sequencers. To use the Roland floppy disk format, you must use a USB Floppy Drive Emulator (USB/FDE) which supports "Disk Image Mode" and is set to work with "720KB DS/DD" disk image files. I have also installed this same device on my W‑30 and S‑50 samplers and it is working great!!!Īfter trying a couple of other inexpensive USB emulators which did not work, I received some very helpful instructions and ideas from user pitchbend over at and ordered this model which does work. This newer IC version will not work with the instructions and diagrams shown on this webpage. Due to recent shortages of STM Cortex M‑3 IC's which are used in the manufacture of GOTEK's, some models sold on or after April 2021 will most likely contain the newer AT Cortex M‑4 IC.
